The story of the life of the famous gi saeng Hwang Jin Yi, who lived in 16th century Korea.Hwang Jin-yi is a beautiful, talented & intelligent young woman who was brought up to be able to read and write well. However, because she was an illegitimate child, she had no other choice but to become a gi saeng where she uses her position to gain status & favor with the noble classes.
